Was thinking about LeMons and how much it might actually cost.

I found a good article about the real-world costs of running a team on Speed:Sport:Life, entitled: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I also found the Car and Driver article, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It's a good read if you haven't already seen it. And I even found a Jalopnik post that links to another Speed:Sport:Life article about the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Yup, LeMons and Chump are much cheaper than even SCCA grassroots racing, but still somewhat expensive when you sit down and add everything up.

A few thousand dollars. on the other hand, if you're in the midland, Michigan, area, you could join my team for much less!

I bought a seat at CMP next weekend... I've spent about $1000 so far after fees and safety gear. I would love to build my own car but I could never do that investment. I'll probably keep buying seats once or twice a year to scratch my racing itch.

Or, if someone wants to make an oppo team in north alabama, yes. Because racecar

Tell me more, please.

Is this like renting a race-prepped car, or is it a spot on an actual team? How does it work, etc etc etc?

Also, what/where is CMP? I Googled quickly and only came up with Calabogie Motorsports Park , which is nowhere near North Alabama...

SWAMBO - First time I've heard of this acronym. Funny!

In my case, sim racing is limited to the PS3 with a standard Dualshock controller - I'm not even allowed to have pedals and a wheel! :-(

You're a bit too far from Montreal to make it work, but thanks for the offer!

It's a team out of Florida. CMP is Carolina motorsports park. Browse the lemons forums, teams sell seats all the time.
